Having various names, mythical animals are popular from West Chou Dynasty through Han Dynasty. With single horn or dual horns, most mythical animals are seen with feather wings and are called flying divine animals. The artifact is made of Hotan jade with green white color. Opening its mouth and raising its head, the mythical animal looks fiercely and majestically. Two tubes like structure which are supposed to be fire injecting instrument are seen on the top of the nose. The fire motif is seen on both legs to make the design idea consistent. The workmanship is extraordinary fine. In addition, the multicolor markings even make the object more beautiful and valuable.
